What is an error 404 page?

Error 404 indicates that you are requesting a file or a directory that does not exist on the server. This error can occur because of the following reasons:
1. You may have a broken link within your HTML page. Check that all your HTML files are pointing to the correct files or directories.
2. You may have misspelled your file name or directory name. Check the URL that is entered to make sure that you spell the file name or directory name correctly. Remember that Linux is case-sensitive so a capital is not the same letter as a lowercase. The file name must match exactly.
